Watched the Avatar in 3D a couple days ago.
As I see it, it's a movie build on the Native American's perception on how to see the world, the nature, and with a big scope of imagination thrown on top.
I like it. I like it very much. The sets and the special effect are just amazing and so inspiring, and I have always been sucker for good special effect and, of course, the action movies. And Avatar gives me that and more.
I fan of the shallow movies, but this time, there hidden under all the special effect there are messages, the lessons our society still needs to learn, but it'll probably never happen.
So yeah, this is one of the movies that will, after the DVD is out, end on my shelf.
I recommend it.
P.S.: I hope everyone had a great New Year.

Date: 2010-01-04 06:27 am (UTC)Avatar is going to be one of those movies that absolutely everyone around me has gone to see (my parents, my sisters, all of my friends...) and not a single one of them is going to remember when they ask me why I haven't seen it that it is because: there is no cinema in our area, I have absolutely no way to get to any cinema out of our area, and that the only way I could get to one is if they had invited me along with them.
The same thing happened with two other big movies that came out (I think it was the Dark Knight and Watchmen).
My own dad was like "Oh, you still haven't seen the Dark Knight? I thought everybody had seen it! Well, I guess it's a good thing I thought it was so good that I bought it on DVD last month..."
I'll just have to buy it when it comes out on DVD. I am SO looking forward to it!

Date: 2010-01-04 09:24 am (UTC)You will just watch it on DVD then. I don't think that 3D adds a lot to the movie, I mean 3D is good, but without it the movie is just as fine. The thing that the cinema has, is the big screen, and everything just seems more 'colorful' because of it.
And you should do something about those people who don't take you with them. Show them your fist and threaten that next time they would see it up close if they don't invite you with them. That should help. xD
