Date: 2007-08-17 05:37 am (UTC)dificulty to translate their language for me You don't have to tell me. I got this game where all they do is talk in Japanese and than you have to choose an option to go on; well... the point is that I can be happy if I understand one word from their sentences. Awful.

Date: 2007-08-17 05:33 am (UTC)constraction "let's do smth we use a negative form of the verb with ka or mashoo (I don't know if I wrote this correct) at the end of the verb, I have about two, three lessons that covers that.

Date: 2007-08-17 10:57 am (UTC)do you know verbshave 5 bases/forms to create different structions? (I think you were explained that in your lessens coz you had already used them)
so for this future tense we use 2 base + masyo (you told me that suffix and that it is used for construction "let's...")
2nd base ends on i - e.g. (1st conjugation.) yomu -> yomi, kaku -> kaki,
(2nd conjugation.) miru -> mi
(irregular conjugation.) kuru -> ki, suru -> shi
suffix MASYO is polite form. (negative - MASEN DESYO)
future form of desu - DESYO (negative - DEWA ARIMASEN DESYO)
you can translate it as future tense as well, and as I understand also it can be that construction "let's..." and see, if we take it logically then the construction "let's" refers to the future as well. "let's eat" - it means that you invite someone to eat but you're NOT eating now - right? you WILL eat.
so "let's eat" in Japanese will be - tabemasyo (as I remember you can add KA in the end).
There's one more construction - you can use: 5 base/form of the verb to get the same meaning - it is used without any suffixes and is used in common language. 5 base is -
(1st conjugation.) yomu -> yomo, kaku -> kako, kaeru -> kaero
(2nd conjugation.) miru -> miyo, taberu -> tabeyo
(irregular conjugation.)kuru -> koyo, suru -> shiyo
so "let's eat" can be tabemasyo as well as tabeyo - it depends on who you ask. Wether it's your tomodachi or your bossu XD
I suppose it can mean FUTURE tense as well.
it's right that you can use present tense for future as well and just add tomorrow etc. I don't argue here +))
